Since its meager beginnings in April 2000, the Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Quilt Project has grown to include more than twelve hundred heart blocks from all 50 states and more than twenty countries worldwide!

The quilts are constructed of heart blocks. Some of the heart blocks have angel themes.
These are in memory of someone who lost their battle with chd. Some of the heart blocks are purple. These honor those who were born with a chd and went on to have a heart transplant.

This amazing project is a series of queen-sized quilts. Each quilt honors 42 CHDers. Each quilt is constructed of heart blocks.

What goes into the making of the CHD Quilt Project

“..If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain…”
Emily Dickinson
